To Do
Passport
This program requires a passport and you will need it to complete your registration, book your flights, and complete your ship registration.
If you have questions about your passport or need assistance reach out as soon as possible to our team. DO NOT WAIT.
Please take the time in the next week to complete your registration, please click the link and fill out the online form. The form will collect all necessary details, including dietary specifications, allergies, emergency contact details, and any skills you can contribute to the expedition.
After having completed your registration SOI will be able to send you flight options, please keep an eye out for these.
Things to remember about flight bookings:
We will not book a flight without a valid government-issued identification (loaded at the time of Registration).
Once booked, we will not make changes to the booking reservation, so please ensure all details to and from the expedition are confirmed as they are final.
The baggage allowance is 1 piece of checked baggage and 1 carry-on per person with a maximum combined weight of 50lbs (22.6kg). The planes we are chartering are small and the weight limit for baggage is strictly enforced.
Ship Registration Information.
As we prepare for the expeditions we need to ensure that the ship and our charters have all the necessary documentation. Please ensure that you complete the following information.
As per the details you give us on registration, SOI will provide your medical and evacuation insurance for your expedition. You can read more about the insurance in the Orientation Package.
As a scholarship recipient, you may have tasks to complete before, during or after the expedition. These tasks are required, and by accepting your scholarship, you agree to complete them. Tasks may include an extra form, a personal essay about your experience, or a letter to your scholarship funder.
The Orientation Handbook will prepare you for everything you need to know about your expedition from travelling with SOI, to what to pack and bring, to information about medical and evacuation insurance. This is a very important document to read.
If you have questions about the Orientation Handbook please reach out to apply@soifoundation.org
Learning happens everywhere, and it starts even before we get onto the ship. This pre-learning document will share with you all the information about the route we are travelling, and the regions we are visiting. Please review it before you depart from your home community.
Have a question? Send an email to apply@soifoundation.org
Your expedition will be full of amazing people to meet. A few weeks from the expedition's start, the Face Booklet link will be live, and you can learn about the other expedition participants and educators.
