Become an ECOP Ambassador

The ECOP Canada Ambassador Program empowers Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) to be key drivers of ocean sustainability. Through this initiative, ambassadors expand their networks, contribute to conservation efforts, and represent ECOP Canada globally, deepening their involvement in ocean challenges and actively building a sustainable blue future.

Who is Eligible?

  • ECOPs with ten years or less experience in an ocean-related field.
  • Citizens, Permanent Residents and individuals residing in Canada with legal status
  • Strong passion for ocean sustainability and the mission of ECOP Canada.
  • Available and willing to dedicate time to being an ECOP Canada ambassador.

What is Involved?

As an ambassador, you will:

  • Represent: Receive up to CA$2,000 in funding to attend and participate in national and international ocean conferences, or to support your existing ocean-related activity, or to initiate a new one. Network with experts, showcase your work, and bring back valuable insights for our community.
  • Mentor: Share your knowledge and experience with aspiring ECOPs, supporting the next generation through various mentorship opportunities, such as peer-to-peer, study-related, employment-related, or general life skills guidance.
  • Engage: Contribute to one initiative of your choice. This can include joining a working group, participating in panels, creating resources, or developing your own path to support the work of ECOP Canada and the broader ocean community.

This is your opportunity to connect with a vibrant network, enhance your skills, and actively contribute to a sustainable blue future. We encourage you to apply to become an ECOP Canada Ambassador!
