This expedition will bring together diverse youth and educators on a special journey from Nunavut, across the Davis Strait, to Greenland, where we’ll visit the incredible Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will focus on topics like Inuit culture, Arctic policy, biodiversity, climate change, and the arts.
Participants will gain insight into the connections, as well as the similarities and differences between these two circumpolar regions. We will discuss their history, traditional ways of life, and present-day challenges and opportunities.
Every day will be filled with moments of connection and learning, both on and off our expedition vessel. And in the true SOI spirit, we will take advantage of all the opportunities that arise, including wildlife encounters, shore landings, hands-on science workshops, and community visits.
